Connecting readers and writers in the West Midlands
The West Midlands Readers’ Network supports reading by creating opportunities for readers and reading groups to engage creatively with literature, and to deepen their reading experiences.
We run a range of events, activities and projects including commissions, creative reading events, a ‘Reader in Residence’ programme, plus networking and skills-sharing across the West Midlands.
We help reading groups to commission new writing from regional writers.

We can work with libraries to develop and deliver skills-sharing sessions for their staff.

We target marginalised groups including readers in rural areas, those with health needs (including mental health) and help to broker events featuring regional writers.

We work with regional literary festivals including the Birmingham Literature Festival to bring exciting reading events to the public.
